“ Wow! That was amazing; nothing was less than Delicious; beans, collards, fries, and Mac and Cheese were perfect. Ribs and brisket - I'm so excited that they are waiting for me as leftovers for dinner. Our waitress even made us drink cups to go. The place is terrific. I had seen this on a Yelp top 100 list a few months ago and had saved it, knowing we would be in the area a few months later. I was blown away, as was the 3 others in my party. ”
“ What a great place to fill up after a day of hiking. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait, but we're seated in 10 minutes. We were so glad. The food was delicious! The dry rub beef brisket was flavorful and tender. I loved the red sweet and spicy sauce. My husband had the 3 rib platter and he said the sweet spicy sauce was too hot for his lips. For sides we had the collard greens, potato salad and baked beans all served with Texas toast. Yum!! Our friends ordered the Mac and cheese and loved it. We were so full but couldn't resist their desserts: banana pudding and blackberry cobbler, so we ordered that to do. $6 wines were a plus as were the selections of local beers. Our server was delightful and took care of us so well we were finished within an hour. Good for our tired bodies. ”
“ Great restaurant. Loved the food and service. This is worth the high praise. Recommend the bbq, ribs, and turkey ”
“ 10/10 for everything. the food was so good and the server made it even better thank u deanna (i believe this is her name). but she made it 10x better with her energy! Will be coming back! ”
“ Restaurant is right off Hwy 64 in Waynesville. It's in an old converted house, very comfortable. Arrived about 4:15, seated immediately. Every server thanked us for coming in. Great sweet tea, biggg cups. Very tender brisket with Texas toast and a side of coleslaw, on the sweet side. Platter of chopped pork, very little if any fatty pieces, great taste. Burnt ends baked beans with a light smokey taste, collard greens with just a little kick, Texas toast. Good selection of sauces. We were stuffed and had to take home leftovers. We also took home a brisket sandwich with mushrooms and cheddar on Texas toast. For dessert, a pecan cobbler, great but rich, a little bite will do you. When we left at 5:00, there was a waiting line of about 50 people, so go early. ”
“ Heard from many people to come try the brisket. It was definitely solid but I'm from Texas and it could be a little more tender. The beans and collards were also good. I will definitely be back when I visit the cherokee area. ”
“ Best BBQ we ever had! It's a must-have if you're in the area! Don't forget the baked beans with burnt ends! Our server Summer was awesome, and place is clean! ”
“ While it is easy to find, parking is limited. There are maybe eight spaces in a gravel lot next to the building. There is no street parking in front of the restaurant so the side streets would be the next choice. The one handicapped space is in the gravel lot right next to the front of the building. The gravel lot is also slightly angled so be aware as you walk. The entrance is in the center of the front. We were greeted by the host as we walked in and seated right away. Seating is a mix of tables and booths. Our server took the drink order and then the food order when she returned with the drinks. The food was to our table in about five minutes. The pork plate offered a good amount of meat which was moist but not mushy. It had good smoke flavor but nothing overwhelming. The spicy bbq sauce was a great option as it added to the meat flavor but did not diminish the pork flavor. The two sides selected were the loaded baked potato salad and burnt ends beans. The loaded baked potato salad was very good. It had a strong pickle flavor too which was surprising at first but after a few bites made the side dish quite memorable. The burnt end beans were also quite good, with a noticeable amount of meat added. My dining partner had the smoked turkey based on a recommendation from a local. I have to say this was an excellent recommendation. The turkey was cooked perfectly, with a subtle smoked flavor that did not overpower the more delicate turkey flavor. The side of fries were fine, but the mac and cheese was another highlight to the meal. The creamy texture and wonderful flavor really complimented the turkey. This was a great meal for a reasonable price. I can imagine parking is an issue when they are busy, but even then it is certainly worth making the walk to Haywood. ”
“ We stopped in on our way to Andrews to ride the rail bikes. We have eaten here before when our nephew and niece were in college. It is a solid BBQ joint!! We love JD's over in Connelly Springs, but Smokehouse is good as well!! Wife had the pork and I had brisket. Meat was juicy and flavorful! Also liked the sweet sauce but my wife wasn't a fan of their vinegar base, and she loves her vinegar sauces. The fries were excellent! The mac and cheese was not great... kind of sticky and not creamy at all, hard pass on the mac next time! Also, the portion was a little light considering the price. The interior is classic BBQ joint and you will leave smelling like sweet smoked meats! Our waitress was fast end efficient! Again, a solid meal! To those about to dine, I salute you! ”
“ Came in after all the recommendations and great things said about this place. I was impressed! The BBQ was excellent, on par with what everyone said. I wanted to try a few of the meats, so I opted for the 3 combo. Pulled Pork, Brisket and the andouille sausage. All three were so good! I got a variety of different sauces too, including the jalapeño sauce. My pictures will likely make your mouth water. Listen to the hype and GO! Excellent service as well. I'll be back when in the area for work. 5 star service and 5 star flavor! ”
